Julia Set
Julia Set is an audiovisual project co-curated by Lewis Wolstanholme and Francis Devine. As a duo, their works specialise in crossmodal, immersive and improvisatory performance practices, with which they seek to challenge a spectator’s perceptive interpretation of their audible and visual worlds.
For this performance, we intend to present two semi-improvised audiovisual works - a reworking of our piece centerbeam, which was originally written for a performance involving audio reactive lights, and a new work that explores both digital percussion and other pre-recorded materials.
Strange Devicers
We are known as Strange Devicers and we create immersive soundscapes using various types of tape recorders playing found recordings and tape loops. Some effects and looping pedals are also used.
Members:
Matt Atkins is a London based sound and visual artist whose principle interests are reductionism, chance, repetition and texture. He uses objects, percussion instruments, occasionally a laptop and cassette recorders to create sound collages.
Andy Rowe is a sound artist, producer and musician who lives and works in London. He has worked with sound in a professional and creative context since 1996 and gained a degree in Sonic Art from Middlesex University in 2009.

Active since 2019, he has released two EPs and a single to date, with the most recent EP – Chairs – receiving a positive review in the April 2023 issue of the Wire, which said that his music shows "a great sense of how to assemble discordant elements into a weirdly coherent whole."
